182 Gismos

Ok, I think I now understand how the cruise control and other things work in my new 182 but I'm not sure how the automatic lights work, what setting do I need to put these on? Plus, I know how the automatic front wipers work but is the rear wiper the same as it just seems to always do the same thing????

Thx :)

The auto lights are usually on by default. If they aren't turn the key in the ignition to position two and turn the lights on off on off, you should hear a beep and the auto lights will be on, or off if they were already on.

The rear wiper isn't auto, but if you have the front wipers on and you select reverse it gives a wipe for you. Other than that it's just a normal wiper.

Put the car in and turn on the electrics, turn the headlight on and off twice and you should hear a beep (maybe 2) this signals that the auto function has been turned on.
Do the same to turn it off.

Doh beaten to it!

Just press all the buttons till it works - thats what I did!

Lol, knowing my luck the car would blow up or it would have an ejector seat or something.... ;)

Sorry for sounding thick, but what do auto lights actually do? Turn themselves on when it starts to get dark?

Yep, they work slightly better than the auto-wipers, which never seem to wipe when its drizzling, and go mad when its pissing down.

Only problem with auto-lights is that if you go to flash your lights at someone it stays on full-beam, very dodgy! For that reason I alays switched them on properly anyway. Sadly the wiper problem isn't so easy to get around as there isn't a intermittent function, very annoying.
