182 Lock on wrong side

just noticed something today after getting my 182 there is a lock to open the door with the key on the passanger side but not on the drivers side is this normal???

After I sent that reply to you I actually thought to myself but I dont know the reason why!! But it has got me curious also and hopefully someone is bound to know....
 


its the same on all the newer clios, about 03 onwards i think. same reason the wipers are back to front, its french, its cheaper to have all clios have the lock on that side rather than foreign ones on that side uk ones on the other. have you noticed as well that the lock if you ever have to use it only opens that door, not the boot or drivers side so you have to walk round the car unlock the door lean in press the button on the dash then walk back round (unless you climb over)
 


Its because the cars French and so the locks on the drivers side for them.

This removal of the lock has only reciently arrived I think the Cups were the first to get it.
