I'm looking at converting my 1.2 into a 182 with all the exterior and interior mods but leave the engine standard. Would I need to tell my insurance as they're all genuine renault parts?
I know I should just get a 172/182 but it's gonna kill me on insurance and petrol. I've got 4yrs NCB and so it only costs me £270 to insure it. I know the alloys would increase the premium but would the interior and body parts make a huge difference to the premium?
i had 2 years NCB and got quoted 700 quid on a 172, at the age of 20, so 4NCB should breeze it, depending on other circumstances obviously
As for the fuel, i think the 172 is very good on fuel, considering engine size and such like, much much much better than my previous car 1.8 20V Seat leon, that drank it
For the 1st 2.5yrs of having a 1.4 8v, I never topped 33mpg but I used to rev the nuts out of it. Somehow managed 40+ when travelling in fast pace last rush our traffic last summer.
In my 172, I avarage around 33mpg and that is a good mix of driving it hard and sometimes calmly.
Saw 35mpg yesterday over a 60mile mix of A, B roads and cruising on the motorway at between 80-100 jellybeans.
Yes, as when someone steals it thinking it's a 182 they'll be pissed then they realise it isn't and stick it in a ditch/set fire to it. Then your ins co will bend you over
^^^ Not lieing, nocking around town since i filled up on sunday, 35.6mpg over 20 miles. 1.2's have awful fuel consumption unless they're on a motorway, going no more than 70.
1.2s are terrible on fuel, i get more miles to a tank in my 172 than i did in my 1.2 lol and its easy to drive the 172 like a granny, 1.2s are f**king awful driving like a granny you wont get anywhere!
im insuring my 172 at 19 with 2yrs ncb for £800 so surely it wont cost you that much!
