182 seats underwiring problem

  Fabia VRS Special Ed
I recently bought a 182 interior for my 1.2 clio, I obviously replaced the front seats with the new ones but the wiring under the seats are different...Does anybody know what to do to convert? Just a simple case of cutting the wires and replacing with the new plugs?

I can provide pics if you don't understan me lol.

Cheers

What model 1.2 do you have?

The 182 seats will have lateral bags, if yours is a base model then it probably wont have originally had them.

Dynamique 51 reg mate...My old seats had airbags but only on the outer sides.

Camble think it would be best if you get pics of the wires up etc.

Suggested pics: wires from the floor, wires under the 182 seats, wires on the old standard seats lol.

Pics as requested :)

New ones that came with the seats that I presume I should attach to the car:

Surely someone has had this problem previously, considering how many people upgrade to 182 seats.

I had this problem when putting 182 seats in my 172 cup, I just took all the wires out the cup seats and swapped them with the 182 wires, it's not hard and it all works bar the seat bealt pretensioner, which I'm informed doesn't work on many clio's either lol

Would it be possible to just cut the wires from the car and wire the 182 ones to them?

Never seen a crashed Clio where the pretensioner hadn't fired with the airbag deployment... and I've seen a few :)

I'm guessing you could do, one thing I have been told though, is you need to be careful how you connect the wires together due to the resistance being a major factor in the electrics, this could be wrong though so could someone confirm? It really isn't that hard to just replace the wires, the pretensioners just unplug, the seatbelt warning light will need to be wired in, and maybe the airbags not 100%

As for the pre tensioners, I wasn't meaning them not working, but the airbag light is on , I believe this to be a very common problem??

airbag light can be sorted with resistors
when joining the wires just make sure you dont use loads of solder and the resistance will be fine, otherwise it may again throw up a fault
