182 shines in Car mag

Hi all

Bought a copy of Car mag today as it featured a report in which the 182 was compared to other 15k hot hatches (Mini Cooper S, Pug 206 Gti 180 & Seat Leon 20VT Cupra). For anyone whose interested Ive scanned in 3 pages of the report (bit wonky cos I rushed it) although alot more is said about the clio on previous pages.

The 182 appears to get another sparkling review and contained some refreshingly new photos. I cant be sure but it looks like this may be the Racing Blue because the colour looks non-metallic (last link shows this). I think the racing stripes look truly awful but it seems that is the only thing they can fault which is good!

Looking forward to mine even more now!

The white stripes are references to the famous Renault 8 and 12 Gordinis So is that shade of blue

Yeah it mentions that about the stripes, Im fairly new to clios so I aint well up on the history .

Im just not convinced they work too well. Although I also remember saying that about the 182 anthracite wheels and when I saw those in the flesh I was drooling...

The 182 Car had is in Racing Blue but without the Cup suspension option, therefore silver wheels. The Competition Stripes will be an option on the Racing Blue from April

Im moving to the US and you cant have a 182 there except if you live next to the mexican border for the services.
I like the white stripes only because Im a Gordini & Alpine fan.

They were going to, but decided on tacky anthracite wheels and silver seat belts instead.

Thank god the stripes arent yellow... It would look like a car off one of those comedy sketches were the double yellow lines man goes straight over your car .

yes I think I do, I always wanted a cooper s with bonnet stripes and think the clio looks ace with the racing blue and the stripes!

And I am soooo happy with that blue, I was so nervous but now am anxious to get my hands on it, still over a week for me though! Just bought CAR and there are loads of pics of it in there, really good ones.

Something I have noticed though is that they havent got the cup suspension and it really shows when the put it on 3 wheels round a corner the wheel is quite high in the air, not as low as the pics in Evo when he put it on 3 wheels. Just goes to show what the cup suspension does to the setup (or maybe I am talking rubbish and hes just pushing it harder) but it looks way different to me.

Yeah I thought that too, back wheel is about a foot off the ground!

Got to admit that blue does look nice, need to see those stripes in real life cos Im not too sure from those pics. I think the reason they didnt go for the cup options is that the report is for hot hatches under 15k and at list price the options on top of stripes or met paint would have taken it over.
