182 shocks on 172

Could I fit 182 non cup shocks on an 172?
Would they be better or worse than 172 ones?

No idea mate. If you want stiffer, you could do the 172 Cup route as they’re stiffer and 54mm.

Non cup shocks and springs. BILSTEIN B14 coilovers are really good. Less harsh than standard but a good progressive spring rate

Yes. I've had non cup, cup and B14s on my clio and the ride on the bilsteins is the best. They're a bit soft for track, but fantastic everywhere else. It's never going to be a magic carpet level of smoothness, but they are much better over minor imperfections.

Wow. We have terrible secondary roads here with occasional wells on the tarmac.
So that makes your experience really helpful. My Clio used to wear H&R/Bilstein height adjustable coilovers, and it was very harsh on me.

H&R can be harsh, ive had them on other cars.
