182 standard alarm Question

I just wondered why sometimes I lock the car and it makes a series of beeps, and other times it doesn't ?

I had a look in the little book that came with the car... and still I'm clueless ..

Mine never does it, unless I lock it too quickly, before the door is properly shut. Other than that, no idea!

yeh there's a constant beeeeeeeeep when something isn't shut properly... but every now and again it goes beep beep beep, when I lock it.

It's not annoying I just wanted to know why sometimes it does and others it doesn't :S

Saying that mine never does it - it made that noise the other day, first time though. But still don't know why lol.

Another common problem is when you lock the car the alarm beeps 2 or 3 times.
Reason: The alarm system has received a signal from the vehicle ECU that the ignition is 'on' causing the alarm to beep. This signal is only received by the alarm for 3 to 4 seconds, after this time has elapsed the alarm stops beeping.

Solution: It can only be resolved at a Renault dealer. Ask the dealer to contact the 'Renault alarm help line' and quote reference
'RS+15'.

I occasionally get 3 beeps, when I unlock the car.

Though i'm pretty sure this is just when the car has locked itself, as I have wandered off with the keys forgetting to lock it, sort of an auto-lock function.

Can the fix only be done by Renault if it's still in warranty I presume? Mine does this and has only done it since I fitted my new grille which I had to take the bonnet sensor out to do.

The bonnet sensors are famously poor check the connections etc. Might need a new sensor they rust etc terribaly.

wait 2 secs b4 locking car and it doesnt do it

It tends to be ok if I leave the key in the ignition for about 4 seconds before taking it out and locking, otherwise it blips about 3 times.

i played a game today... i tried to make mine do it.

I was able to make it beep 3 times if i turned off the engine, quickly get out, slam the door and lock within a few seconds...

if i was a normal person and switched off, undid my belt, got out and locked normally it was fine.

conclusion: slow down!
