mines been at 140 on the clock not flat out, Big Iain had his mk2 172 at 150 on the clock.

he means that cruise control only goes to 123 when the car can go faster

my dad claims he saw !45 last night on the speedo of his standard 172 (we have a private road round our way)
I suspect the speedo was over reading a bit though.

^^^^ I think the speedos are pretty accurate . I was doin' 120mph when i spotted a traffic cop just as i touched the brakes he zapped me with his hairdryer , the reading was 118 mph .

have seen 145-147ish on the clock...but im pretty sure that must be an error as the limiter should be kickin in?? no??

seen 140+ before, seemed to be less progessive after 130, but got there and it wasnt an embarassment at those speeds anyway.

on a private runway on a private island near skegness i hit the limiter in 5th with 3 in the car, was 145-147 ish. Would easily do 150 with the limiter rasied with a chip and a longer runway...

On my 182 i got to 135-136 at 6k RPM and stopped. On my nova 1.4 SR the top speed was 106ish and i got 115 with 4 people in and my corsa top speed was 115 and i got 125 according to the speedo.

I havn't gone past 120 on my 182 as I was a lil nervous ..

In my old car the top speed was 86mph .. lol and I used to rag it to over 100 .. problem was my arms felt like jelly after all the vibration hehe

Highest i have achieved is 135mph (on my private runway), and the needle was heading quite nicely up to 140mph, i have no doubt it would have gone beyond that. Dunno how accurate it is though.

I never usually go passed 70mph with cruise on, cos the car gets a bit noisey beyond that.

God the 182 needs a 6th!!!

i was sitting at 141 with 3 in the car and boot full of stuff!!! This playing with a saxo VTS (stripped out and mod'd) - ive just got a piperX induction at the moment needed some noise while i wait for the ITG Maxogen to be delivered along with my Orbisound Exhaust!!!

P.S the saxo got nailed and i think he was quite embarrased

i've had my old 172 sat at 140 mph for ten minutes on the A2 to Hanover, had an idictated 150 when chasing Tom to the ring one day last summer. Autobahns are ace. I've never hit the limiter in top though, although the green lights been flickering many times

yeah ive seen about 148 from the speedo on private strecth of course .... also sat at 130mph for about 10minutes straight having some banter with a couple of bikes ... managed to spend £40 of petrol that journey for something that would usually cost about £10.

the car aint geared for more than 139 / 140 mph, which is prob about 150 on the clock.

raise the rev limit and u might see a little more, but its only for a laugh, you're never going to want to sustain that speed.

they dont, its just speedos over read and everyone goes on about how fast they go cos the speedo must be right - corsas speedos are very well known to over read a lot at anything above 70.

ive had an indicated 145 on my 182 on an airfield of course.

^^ Can hold the steering wheel with one hand if the road is str8 and level. Stick it in the middle of the road and your sorted.

Takes ages to get above 120 anyway, mine pulls to that, then i have to push it past that.

Had a Astra coupe thing, 2ltr turbo thing struggle to keep up the other day, was lagging behind when i got into the 4k revs..maybe something wrong with my car....
