182 Windscreen ?!

is it just me or is the clio windscreen a bit poor and not up to much ??
mine got cracked last night from ... Grit ... yes grit. :dapprove:

i know others with clios whos windscreens seemed to crack a lot easier than other cars.

and i know in comparison to the type r the clios windscreen is more breakable it would seem. ive had the clio 2 weeks n its cracked already. the type r hasnt n weve had it for about 5months.

what i really want to know is if i claim through the insurance for the windscreen do they put in the same replacement with that tint on it (the sun reflector thing) or is it just totally clear ??

ye insurence companies usually send reputable ppl and and should be aware he the car has things like uv protection heat reflective etc

I had to replace the screen on a courtesy car the other day. That had auto lights and wipers so required the screen to go with those. They'll fit the correct screen provided you make them aware which one you need.

I had a few chips on my 172 and 182 screens, and obviously cracked the one on the Dynamique the other day, but the Trophy one has been fine.

First Alternative/esure used RAC Auto windscreens.

The 172 Cup screen is supposedly thinner than the rest so that would account for that.

mine cracked twice in the first two weeks of ownership! i contacted the dealer to see if it was a common fault with the screens being placed funnily causeing stress on it and therefore weakening it. Of course the dealer said they had no problems what so ever before, so ive just lived with it for now until i can get round to sorting a replacement screen out.

Last time i saw the cup screen was the same as my Dynamique (without Heat Reflective Coating)
