after writing off my 1.2 dynamique I thought it would be a good idea to replace the car with a brand new 182 with suspension pack and full colour sat nav.

It seems admiral is the best quote so far. Anyone suggest any others? Im 21 would have had 4 years no claims by now but lost them after claim 2 months ago so back down to one. sp30 3 points, very insurance friendly job.

my question is on admiral they dont list the 182 just the 172 so is the 182 the same insurance group in other words can I class the quote as accurate using 172.?

Try Tescos... I pay £1100.00 and I am 21 with 3 yrs NCB. When I first phoned up I thought that they had made a mistake. I recently phoned them asking about an upgrade to a 182 and they said there is no extra cost.

when i did a quote excluding my claaim so as in 3 points and 4 years no claims at 21 best I got was £1180 from a company in Police review magazine. Or £1206 from Admiral.

But im having to add a good £700 on top now I made the claim, still we live and learn....

you guys my age with 4 years no claims should be looking for around £1200 fully comp for a 182.

(presuming same to insure as 172???)

need to enquire about getting my renault changer fitted to 182 i took out of my dynamique and if its compatible with sat nav.

spaz lad, artistcalledian here, i bought a 172 cup at the weekend, i rang Adrian Flux and i got fully comp for £900. Im 37 but only got 1 years no-claims. Give them a ring, they dropped it down from £950 just by asking them to. The second cheapest quote was from Liverpool Victoria, they wanted £990

Have you tried Renault Insurance themselves? I got quoted about £900 from them for a 182.

I couldnt find the 182 on the admiral website list either, at first, it is there though.....about half way down the list and not where you would expect it to be , like with the 172s........its called - renaultsport 182 - the guy on the phone took ages to find it and i eventually tolf him where it was .......im with admiral and they always seem helpful and cheap !

Im with Admiral, I payed £1700 for my V6s insurance, that was when i was 21 with 1 years no claims after killing my 172 with "almost" a w/off!!!!!

As long as im good, the next quote is a follows: im 22 and have 2 years no cliams it goes down to 1150 with elephant.......

Hello

Getting my 182 Friday. Currently have a V6 4Motion Golf. Rang my current insurance company Admiral. Spent 20 mins on hold as I first said it was a Clio 182. They said what about a renault sport 182. I said yes.

Has it got any mods. Yes it has Cup suspension/Spoiler and metallic paint.

What is the cup suspension and spoiler I was asked. Has to advise what you get:- Lowered by 3mm Uprated dampers etc.etc.

Then finally after being on hold for a good 15 mins was told that I can change but if I was to have an accident as i had modified the car it would not go back to how I purchased it only how it would come out stock from the factory!

Please bear in mind the above on a policy!

Thought the cup options were not classed as mods as they are dealer fitted options??

Depends on the insurance co - some class the Cup options as mods, others not.

NU/Tesco were fine with Cup options as "manufacturer fit".

I am with Admiral with my 182. The cup options will be seen as modifications by them so this will increase your premium.

admiral never asked me if it was modified.........and i dont see how factory fitted options can be mods......theyll do anything to get extra cash out of you.......

this baffles me also. They were a factory option, not an aftermarket add on. Why even tell the insurance company??!!??

can someone confirm that the 182 has digital climate control like the 172 had?

and in the brochure it states the cup spoiler pack cannot be used in conjunction with the sat vav colour version, why is this? Id like if poss pics to compare the 182 with and without the cup spolier pack..

ahhh!!! I got 834 fully comp from direct line but they dont do mods so went with reno for 987

Thats with Bond Lovis Insurance Brks ltd in London who specialise in performace cars and ex company drivers. I found that with most companies they would not even insure the 182 with all the cup mods on it and my biggest quote was £15500 with Screentrade.co.uk lol.

yeah it has got digital climate control..............if you go to the pics forum and do a search with me as the author youll see pics of my 182 without the cup spolier but with the suspension pack.
