Agreed, but these prices won't stay that high for long. Remember, there's a lot of 'normal' motorists that will come along and just want a 'top of the range' Clio.

Once the initial furor as passed then the negotiationable prices will start. Wasn't the 172 and 182 comparatively the same kind of money when first released?

I tihkn you can't judge it till you've driven it as that is unfair. I wasn't that optermistic when i went to drive it but imo it is a far better car thasn the 182 will ever be.

but thats just my opinion!

Most 197's (unless your an idiot) will be sold with a discount, so list prices are irrelevant.

i always hated the auto windscreenwipers and lights. but that was jsut me. i never actually used the climate. i just picked a temp and fan setting and went on my way. lol

i seem to remember my 182 costing a shedload (list price) when new. Mine is a VERY early 182.

197 is about £1500 more expensive with similar options, but now has brembo four pots and downforce, not to mention 15bhp and a 6spd box i could go on...

Well its just about on 20k. Its nearer there than 15. I know its list price but still.

List price for the 182 was £14800 which seems like a bargain. You could get a Focus ST, or even an Astra VXR for the price of a 197, and they would whoop it.

EXACTLY. this is far to hard for people to absorb though. also people dnt think of discounts. you never pay full price for a renault!
