197 advice !

well iv had it a whole 6 days and 2 things are getting on my ***s already just noticed it tonight so just started although its threw all gears you can hear it better with less road noise at say 30 in 3rd when you sit with your foot on accelerator maintainin same speed its fine but when i accelerate or slow down you can hear a whining from gear box is it something to do with the thrust bearing if thats whats it called. Also noticed when a was sitting with engine on or of my computer screen showing mpg flickers and stops flickering on its own accord .and one else notice there issues or is it normall on a french car ps its only been 310 miles !

Nope thrust bearings not an issue on the car only the Mk2's

ask for the gearbxi oil level to be checked and compire with other cars.

Dashboard might be faulty though or a poor earth connection.

they all do it mate, its been discussed on another clio forum. its like a binding noise when the vehicle is coasting in each gear. mines up to 6.5 k and hasnt got any worse or better
