197 bonnet

Hi all, went out this morning and went to check the car for oil etc but pulled the leaver for the bonnet and it dosnt seem to be working feels like it's not attached because it's not any resistance, any ideas how to get the bonnet open or is it into a garage she go's? Any ideas would be great.

Not going to be easy without breaking something. I've heard of people smashing their grill to get at the release.

Have you checked the lever in the car, the cable may have just slipped off it?

you can remove the 197 grill (and not break it) without having the bonnet open

I was trying to check it before I went to work so was pushed for time to give it a good look over, have to wait till I finish n check it over I will start with the leaver inside check all that, then if that's ok looks like am going to be taking the grill off hopefully with not any damage :S will let use know how I get on hopefully get it fixed. Thanks for the advise.

Before you do anything get someone else to yank the bonnet while you pull the lever. They stick all the time.

If the cable has snapped, after you remove the under tray, you can get to the release from under the car with a long screwdriver.

When I got home spent a bit of time trying to get it open, even got the misses out to pull the leaver while a tryed opening the bonnet but no joy, so took it to the garage and they had ago with it and still no joy so it's booked in for wed so they can put it up on the ramps, will keep use posted on the out come and the cause of the problem,
