197 cams into a 182

Can you fit 197 cams into a 182 and what difference do they make

Yep and unless mapped not a great deal. I'd only get cams if belts are due. Or I threw up a spare grand

Got an rs tuning remap just the 98 oct one I think. But it would probably need doing again after having them fitted

Basic stuff like induction exhaust the tuner will be ok. Anything above that and it will need to be a custom map. Good luck with henk. If you do anything like cams it needs to be mapped properly. My car has been mapped at efi in Runcorn and it's ace and goes really well.

Agreed, the 197s are good for a small power upgrade but then it's a dead end.

I had the rst map then had the cams put in and it constantly stalled at the lights etc until I had it mapped by efi.
I've been happy with them for nearly 2 years now and you could tell the improvement to begin with but then you get used to them... I need to add an inlet now!

Both if funds allow. An sm inlet would be around 190.

That would completely depend if you need your belts doing. That is when I got mine done and for the added cost was well worthwhile.

If I didn't need the belts doing then I wouldn't have them done. Any cams for that matter!!

If your belts aren't due, fit a set of ITBs, when bored sell them, you won't lose money apart from the mapping
