197 'flutter' noise above 5k

  Clio 197
Hello all, hopefully someone will be able to help.

I have a 197 with 6,000 miles on the clock, had it from new. Recently I've noticed what can only be described as a 'flutter' noise from somewhere near the front passenger footwell when you accelerate.

It only happens above about 5,000 rpm. It sounds similar to if you have driven over some grit and it is flying up into the wheelarch. Except maybe not quite as loud, and it is constant.

Anyone any ideas what it could be?

(apart from that, love the car!)

Welcome to the forum :)

No idea what the problem is I'm afraid. There isn't that many 197 owners on here yet either, so you may struggle for a definate answer.

Your cars very new, is it not covered by warranty?

Possibly problem with exhaust or heat shield rattling. Not many ppl on here have the 197 though yet as said above so the problems are not well known.

Thanks for the suggestions - yeah, it's under warranty so they're going to have a look at it next week.

Don't think it's a wheel bearing, I've had those go on cars before and this is different. It almost seems as if it's got something to do with the front left wheel arch vent. Really strange.
