197 Key card

On a couple of occasions I havent been able to lock the 197 or when sitting in the car the indash display is reading card not found-

noticeably or maybe coincidentally once after washing the car & this morning when the car was sopping wet from dew-

This morning after driving to work the dash display read insert card-
I put it in the slot & everything work fine afterwards-

Does the slot do anything like reset the key card?--

I think the problem with locking the doors is down to the sensor behind the door handle.
If your shadow covers the sensor, whilst you are pressing the door lock button, then it won't lock.
