197 or Megane RS

  Mini Cooper S sport
I'd go for an R26 as first choice, then R27 in LY if I could find one, then a 197 cup in white.

  C-VXR, T8 Map 220BHP
both great cars. have the meg if you need the space. i'd read that they both have same-ish running costs. the 197 is the best looking hatch on sale at the mo imo. (bar the astra vxr)

Better handling in an R26???????????

I'd not say better handling to be honest.

Better power delivery and the ability to put the power down (using the LSD), but better handling than a 197 with Cup suspension?
Nope!

  Roadster Coupe
Go for a R26, turn more heads with a R26. lol And you will love the turbo power when the turbo spools up. But then again i like the 197's as well lol all down to personal choice really. But you can easily remap a R26 to 260HP.

I doubt either of us have caned these cars over a period of time, especially not back to back. The only road based head to head that I've seen/read (Autocar) had the R26 as the better handling car. Not to mention far quicker on the road.

i had a ff 197 and now a R26 both have there own qualitys
get out in them then make your mind up

Indeed, drive them both only you can decide. Owners of each will defend theirs to the hilt !

I would not buy either tbh.

R26 for me , faster , bigger , better tuning ability .

The choice is yours tho, test drive em both , remember tho if your not used to a turbo it will take a bit of getting used to , you may not get the best out of it on the test drive!
