So then, what gains can be had? A mate has just bought one and we were looking at possibly getting an rs tuner and just doing a generic remap?

Anybody have any previous experience with generic vs live map?

Well thanks for stating the obvious danny, I mean figures wise and drivability, is there really that much more to be gained by a live map than a generic?

Ofcourse a live is always going to be better but by what sort of margin

We have been getting good gains on 197 maps, ranging from 10+ BHP to 7 bhp and similar hikes in torque. The main difference will be in the drive, a lot of the 197's quirks are removed by the remap including a tremendous improvement in the cold start kangaroo issue. All of our maps are done with the vehicle on the Dyno, tailored to each car.

The term live mapping is used a little out of context these days. Live mapping infers that the changes are made "live" i.e. whilst the car is rolling on the dyno. There is not a way to do this on the standard ECU, no matter which software / hardware you use to perform the mapping. Generic maps don't see the dyno, so we refer to our maps as tailored as they are bespoke to each vehicle we see.

Cliosport prices for tuning packages on the 197 start at £249 inc VAT or a remap only is £195+VAT. We have had excellent feedback on our maps and would be happy to let you try before you buy if you are in doubt.

Sean.
