197 Second Cambelt change

Hi all
My 57 plate 197 on 58000 miles is pretty much due 2nd Cambelt change. Would everyone advise sticking to the service schedule and get it done or run it for another year ? Also is the Dephaser totally necessary at it seems to be about a £120 difference most places to get that done ?

Get it done now as it's due as well as the dephaser.

The cost as well as the £120 extra now is a bargain compared to the cost of the belt failing in a few months time..

The mk 3 dephasers are lot better/stronger compared to the 172/182 but for the sake of £90 it's a bit of a no brainer tbh.

Also just wondering why this car is due its 2nd cambelt change as the 197/200 have 6 year intervals so should put it at 2019?

Not quite - The early 197's (2006-2008) had the 5 year interval. All 200's have the 6 year interval though.
