I'm intrigued, I've not heard of that before, even on 197.net. Is there many people that have done it on here?Timing adjustment will probably be your biggest gain, advancing the inlet cam a few degrees. Followed by a remap to suit with a slightly raised rev limiter.

Is this with a upgraded cams?Similar to what the rally engines do really. Group N timing I believe.
I've been looking at bolt on direct to head throttle bodies but can't find any for the 197s, any ideas?
I'm sure you can do it with standard cams can't you @NorthloopCup?

buy a pure motorsport engine?
Isn't that on the mk2's?
I'm sure Mark's 172 Cup was a 172 block with 197 head and cams which was timed up to group n spec.

It ain't 'cheap' horsepower either if you get me!I'm sure Mark's 172 Cup was a 172 block with 197 head and cams which was timed up to group n spec.
