Aye its minted old woman that owned it before me only drove it to the hair dressers and back and her son drove it for 2 year after she passed basically zero rust and 45k miles on the clock
Good runabouts, I have a Mk3 facelift 1.2. If you are keeping it as standard, I would check the cam and aux belts and replace if worn/cracked (along with the waterpump). Also check the scuttle drains are clear, as water can get in the passenger compartment and cause general electrical maladies.
I managed to find my daughter a nice one for her first car, was on around 30k then and 2 owners from new.
She’s had it two years now and it’s needed next to nothing doing (other than routine maintenance and age related stuff like belts, water pump etc).
Current mileage is 45k and everything works like it should, I’ve told her to keep it as long as possible.
It drives brilliantly and it’s saved me many a time where my modern car has shat itself
Here it is, it’s now got her private plate on it since these were taken.
Only downside is it’s not ulez compliant and depending on if/when her “city’s” stance changes will determine if she keeps it long term.
I smile every time I see this wee thing, great cars.
