1st time I've properly floored it...

  BMW E46 330i Touring
Just a little post to say I floored my new (well, old) Mk1 172 for the first time tonight. Was on a small dual laner, kept it in 2nd and put my foot down, felt the surge not so much at 5k revs, but a little bit past... the sound, OMG!

That induction roar along with the custom exhaust so sounds so so good... I've just fallen a little bit more in love!

Anyway, back to normality. :D

I know exactly what you mean dude and mines standard. My 182Cheap will always be fondly remembered as my first performance car, not my first hot hatch.

hello guys,
just joined this site.
bought my clio mk1 172 2 months ago and at the age of 20 the insurance is kicking my arse but it becomes worth it when the saxos get smaller and smaller in you rear view mirror. anyway. just put some 17 inch wheels on the car and am looking for a good suspension kit without going over 500 quid or so. anyone recomend anywhere?

Hey dude, why have you put 17's on there - are you going for a luck rather than performace? I would have thought they will be slowing ya doing :( Have fun with your new car though :D

Yep i love opening mine up, sounds *****tastic as std...Gear change is clumsy and crap tho...only disappointing thing.

Yeah it's miles better than my old Fiesta's gearbox, but I find that they don't naturally slip into one-another. It seems that 3rd is slightly to the right of 4th, so I have manageed to crunch the gearbox when changing down just the once!

  An orange one
ive got 17" 'leggera's waiting to go on my cup but im hesittant to put them on till i buy coilovers as i dont want the 4x4 effect..as for slowing me down, im getting the even smaller 195/40/17 tyres not 205/40 and i feel its a good style/go compromise!
