2 Questions!

Car  172

Hey im a newbie on this forum, Im getting a Clio next week which will be my first car, had a scooter for the past year, how embarrassing hehe!

Right then, im picking my wheels up next week (phase 2 16v on 55 tyres!) so i need to know how low i can go before i drop it on its arse and scrub the tread away! I was wanting -55mm front and round the same on the back but im sure it will rub with these bloody tyres! Its a 1.9 diesel if that makes any difference :)

My second question, can i fit a backbox to it and would it improve the sound at all? Ive not seen any advertised but i could get one custom made from exhaustsuk in sheffield...oh and would an induction kit make any noise/performance difference on an oil burner!?

Thanks, Gav

if the wheels rub would depend on the offset.

doubt youll notice any difference with an exhaust and filter.

there is a good chance they would rub as the valver has flared arches but your deisal doesnt.

With my old clio diesel i was looking to go as as low as -55mm.

If I remember back in the day, Spax do springs for the clio diesel, and they promised me that there would be no rubbing of the arches as long as i didnt have a lot of weight in the back - hmmmm

I guess it depends wot u carry in your car? If u drive your mates around all the time/gonna kit it out with sounds and have a lot of speed bumps in your area, then you might wanna look into dropping it -35mm.

*Edit*

Just saw u said u got 16V suspension...think ur best for going -35mm mate. I dont think u can get -55 for the 16V?

No its all completly standard at the moment, nothign modified whatsoever, so its just a 1.9 diesel mk1 clio...and im putting a set of 15" clio 16v phase 2 alloys with 55 profile tyres, hope that clears it up lol, oh and i want it as low as it can go!

On a budget at the the minute mate, so ill have to keep these tyres until i can afford the buy lower profiles, plus im wanting front springs, saxo style spoiler, dtm mirrors and a bit of ice! And £1400 insurance to pay on top of that! im full time art student and part time salesperson :)
