200+ CUP

that would be fine, but youd want to check the fueling at least to make sure its safe......it wont be optimum on the superchip though.

As I said above.

We are doing the cams as a kit, to make sure that everything runs properly.

We are getting a standard engine and doing the cam conversion on it on the dyno, then an engine with inlet, cams, and all the other tweaks.

:)

Its nearly there as a finished package deal.

Thats great,i bet that little car shifts

Nice to see aswell, someone putting there money where their mouth is on these conversions.I think we all know its possible to do but when you get muppets like LAD motorsport trying to put you off tunning figures and rolling roads with a £200 hotel bill for the privelige,it kind of puts you off getting it done yourself.

Well done yozza and well done nev172 for taking the plunge.

cheers ian. :D

Floodie - The chip can be remapped to make it safe if its just out on the fueling.
youd be aprocahing/beyond the limits of the superchip setup TBH, best to go for the SMT6, then you 100% know the fueling is 100% perfect

awesome news. cant wait for the website to get up and running. at last aplace we can be confident in tuning in instead of shopping our clios for turbo cars.

better start saving

for shizzle
I thought drivetrain losses of 20% were typical for front wheel drive?

Damn, just when i thought i was saving up for a house deposit nicely, someone posts another "200 bhp y0z/benR mobile" to tempt me!!

Looks like a smashing piece of kit, sorely tempted!

its just to piss you off mitsi ;-)

thats what the company is called clart - YozzaSport Ltd

No-one has everything made specifically for them, we have had a chunk of it made specifically, and then other bits we are the sole uk importers for. Other Parts as demand increases will be custom made.

Things like our uprated suspension top mounts, engine mounts, suspension / coilovers is our own custom manufactered stuff, which will just be sold through ourselves. It is taking a chunk of investment to get it done, hence why it is being branded YozzaSport.

so YozzaSport it is.

Whats this tapping when using Piper Cams all about ???

Im slowly attempting to crack the magic 200bhp in mine and got the cams reprofiled in Novermber time but not had them fitted yet due to funds and me waiting on getting head work done.

im a bit worried now :(

Martin + Mervin, depends which rolling road your using

also depends on variables such as air temp and pressure

we use the same RR before and after and its calibrated from 2 engine dynos

never 100% accurate whatever RR you go to!! but if you use the same one, you will know exactly what the gain will be

Mines fitted with Piper cams and there is a noticable ticking noise, but to be honest it doesnt bother me in the slightest....once that pedals to the floor all i hear is bwaaaaaaaaaarp haha. Would of liked to go for billet cams but the Piper ones were a cost effective compromise for me.

The pipers being regrinds use the metod of reducing the BCD (base circle diameter) to increase the relative lift value from the centre of the cam. However, because they reduce the BCD the radius followers pivots have to adjust to take up that extra clearance, and they just dont have the scope to do so by the amount needed. Hence the followers do not sit on the cams lobe surface all the time and a clearance value is achieved (they should run zero all the time). The slack is taken up by the flank of the cam lobe, as it hits the follower at a rather high rate of speed it creates the tap noise.

In my opinion its bad because of a few reasons. The clearance that they have means that the valve experiences an initial acceleration rate much higher than std or even properly designed wilder cams. This will, IMO, over time have a bearing on the valve stem tips becomming damaged as even 10 thousands of an inch can double the speed at which the tappet hits the valve stem. The other reason is that the valve acceleration rates are higher and more aggressive, leading to less dwell at peak lift, and more potential valve float and bounce as there isnt a nice gentle lead in and out of the ramp for the follower to slide along.

For this reason my cams have the largest BCD on the marketand ground from blanks, and are the most gentle on valve train assembly, whilst having the most lift and generous duration, eventhough the valve events are conservative.

 Crikey im glad someone knows what they are talking about.

Pretty intense stuff!

Well, i noticed it, investigated it, measured them, thought about it.......

dont think anybody else thought about it actually lol.

we did when the grind was 1mm down!!!! ;-)

iirc

22% tranny losses = 28-30% RR losses, add to the barometric correction as the pressure was very low that day, 2% lower than normal and that is 32% loss..

the digital reading is not correct on that gauge and the power actually went to 153 bhp atw.

just over 200 bhp....

  Audi A6 (S3 on order)

oh you guyyysssss, put the footpump away.

Looks more like 151 on the analogue (camera angle makes it look more)

28% losses (like every other car run at mass RR)

193 atw

Mine ran 191 atw on piper cams which are about a quarter of the cost and I didnt have a 3" bore exhaust to help the top end.

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider

chris at mass actaully uses 30%, it was my choice after discussion to use 28%!!!! (so there) ;-)

yeah noticed too the analogue reading was different, I noticed that at 2 other RRs I have used recently, whats it mean, which one is accurate???

I work out 153bhp x 1.3 (for 30% rolling losses, seems a bit high in a FWD car... i thought 26% ABSOLUTE max) is 198.9bhp just under the 200bhp marker. The 157ATW would be just over 204bhp by my figures...

...who cares tho, 1/4 mile the b**ch, thats the real test!!! :D

  GDI Demo 182, Rsi Spider

yeah, the 30% is at normal attmospherics. if there is low pressure that looses power as higher pressure increases power.

mass have a barometer in the engine dyno room for this..

that day was 2-3% lower pressure so you need to add this to the atw figure before adding the rr losses..

A.

whatever the handbag says its still a good result and a vert drivable car..

ben... 25.6%

I assume you mean at the fly m8......

pah, any excuse eh....he was in the car and you git full throttle, you know it!

cor, these middle aged people fred eh!

i just thought 30% was usually around 4WD car loss is all. what would something like a scooby or evo suffer on the rollers on a given day?
