200 gearbox repair

my Clio 200 gearbox is crunching slightly when up shifting into 3rd.
I'll pull it out but I'm looking to have it rebuilt.
Anywhere down south that's recommended ?
Is there a way of upgrading the synchros to stop this happening again?
Any help would be appreciated please.

Renault have changed the material that the synchro is made from now to prevent further problems. They're only about £30, but I anticipate it will have damaged the dog teeth on the gear and selector hub too if it's been crunching for a while.

Depends on how soon you're wanting it done tbh mate. I've got a few in front of you currently! Lol!

It's a second car and I doubt I'll have the box removed within 2 weeks.
Is there a rough estimate on what I should be paying to have this done?
Obviously it's a stab in the dark for you but a few examples of what I'm walking into would be great if you've time.

I'd say a realistic maximum is £550-£600 is what to expect, but obviously that depends on what you find when it's opened up. It could well be cheaper. The usual cost for a rebuild on a jc5 is £380-£400 in parts for example, and that includes all seals, 3rd and 4th gears + synchros and the selector hub for 3rd and 4th gear.

It went to agency transmissions today.
I took a drive up there to avoid courier damage.
He had another tl4 in for repair too.
One thing I noticed was this isn't the cars first box but that's hardly a surprise.
