Hi all new to the forum but thought i'd share my experiences with you. Had the car about a year now but from day one always had issues with starting first thing from cold and have carried out the following repairs,
1. removed and cleaned all engine earth points and reconnected - no improvement
2. replaced TDC Sensor - no improvement
3. after diagnostic check in local independant garage fuel pressure rail replaced - no improvement
4. after another visit this week and diagnostic check one code read - coolant temperature relay no.2 fault, (i dont think this would prevent starting as my understanding is that this ccontrols the cooling fan high speed) any way dont know where this relay is to investigate.
After reading post relating to EGR issues I happened to mention this to my local garage upon my last diagnostic he was confident that any EGR issues would be picked up during diagnostic, anyway with nothing to lose i went home yesterday removed the EGR and stainless steel pipe from it into the inlet, couldnt believe how coked up the valve was and the pipe was thick with sticky black goo, the valve came up a treat with carb cleaner and although the pipe is much better it was more difficult to treat. The test came this morning 2 degrees on the temp gauge and hey presto fired first turn, I not get too excited yet ill update you in about a week to see if its sorted finally
