2006 Rs Clio...any definite facts

going to see local dealer about a trophy today, any facts known about the 2006 model as if i get the trophy going to be around 3 years before i could change over again

  Ziel Nurburgring

Nothings going to be concrete for a few months, but expect around 200bhp, six speed, 1200-1300kgs, to go very well on a track, and it too rattle.

The gearing is improved and my bet its it will get reworked trophy suspension, dont forget this is the "172" of the new clio range.

Obviously there will be versions with more power/less weight

10/bhp tonne down it may be but its torque is improved

About the same as a CTR? Dont forget this car is bigger. The weight piles on once you start growing in 3 dimensions. The new Clio is no longer in its old class...it seems to be boxing in the next weight up now. Quite sad really.

Its nearly 200mm longer right? Ive said before now - it will not be any quicker than the current car. It will likely have CTR power, but with CTR weight its a moot point. The tiny hot hatch is lost for ever as far as Im concerned. Crumple zones and airbags have seen to it.

I dont doubt the next RS Clio will be a great car though. I just dont undertsand what class it will belong to. 1250kg is family hatch weight, not supermini. Cars are getting heavier and heavier with each new model. A hot hatch has put on 300kg in 10 years, thats 30% heavier.

There may be an RS twingo.

There was a bizzare concept with mega power, Hint?

On the topic of later versions with more power. Do we really expect RS to squeeze much more out of this lump in production trim without a blower?

Yep 215hp the engine been to in tests with other bits and pieces.

Maybe they will try two power hikes during the product life one to 210 another to 220hp.

remember the engine is STILL based upon the same F4R in the 172/182s

250+bhp is possible out of that engine NA!!!

  Scenic mk1 (F3R)

all depends how much renault wana do to it but still a good throtlebodying wouldnt hurt and maby a turbo wouldnt go amiss :devilish: and of course cant forget gotta get it fred low ;)

Yep I know. However theres no way Renault will start getting that out of this engine IMO with warently. Before they push the engine to that level they will be changing either the whole engine for a new one or replacing most bits in the engine.

Any idea what the red line is going to be in each gear? I want to do some comparisons with the 182...
Probably 7.4k. The difference isnt going to be huge its mid range the engine going to be better.
