2008 model clio 3 cruise control problem

I wanted to add cruise control to my 2008 model 1.4 petrol clio 3, when I made the connections I can switch between cruise control and speed limiter via the display, I do not get any response when I press the steering wheel buttons, I activated the cruise control via the engine control unit and the display but I cannot use it, what could be the problem?
