2014 Motorsport ends here... 2015 begins

  Listerine & Poledo
With the FIA awards this week, that's the European series all concluded.
But that doesn't mean you're short of cars circulating for glory. This weekend is the final meeting if the Aussie V8 series and although Whincup had the title all wrapped up last month, there ar still some arguments to settle further down the leaderboard and you can be sure there'll be drama on the streets of Syndey.
This is the final year that the v8s are shown live and free on 7, which may mean that the 2015 series disappears from Motors TV (who are already running delayed coverage, but unlike BBCs F1 effort, they are the whole race....with the odd break to pay the bills).
BT Sport should keep the full, live coverage though, so the pit-lane exploits of Larko and the ripper commentary skills of Skaifey and Crompo will still make it to the UK....depending on who Fox buy in (much the same as when Sky bought Brundle but not Coulthard, this could signal the breakup of the best commentary team in televised Motorsport)

Getcha fill guys, it's guaranteed to be a stormer, especially if they get some rain clouds floating in.

This very same weekend also signals the start of the 2014/15 Trophee Andros. For those who don't know, this is the French-originated ice-racing series. Drivers have included Prost, Villeneuve, Panis, Grosjean and a selection of guys you may once have heard about.
If you don't recall the series itself, there's a good chance you'd recognise the setup from a top gear challenge where they took old rear-drive coupes into the alps. Again, Motors will provide the barely-SD quality coverage, and be sure you catch the proper series, not the electrique or Pilot Bike ones...unless that's your baguette.
Calendar as below, all you sik mad drifterz can all be jelly.

Of course, there Formula E still touring the world, next weekend is Uruguay, the milk-floats may only have the pace of a Clio Cup racer running on ditch seekers, but no-one can argue it's hard it's fair share of highlights in the 2 races it's existed for so far.
