215/40/16's

The previous owner had this size tyre fitted, can't think off hand what brand they are, they're dutch and I've never come across them before.

My question is could this size cause poor handling? It's not so much an issue at low speed corners but high speed ones, feels unstable and tramlines an awful lot too, it's very crashy (more so than my previous cup).

All the shocks are fine, no leaking etc and there's no apparent faults regarding tracking/driveshafts/cvboots etc etc.

205/40's would tramline a bit more than 195's and the 40 profile is going to be pretty thin which will make the ride a bit firmer. Not enough to be a concern though mate - might be worth checking the pressures aren't too high or low.

Tyre pressures appear to be fine, checked them before. The tyres themselves are crap though so that's not going to help any, they're nearly on the limiters anyway so I'll be changing them pretty soon.

I think it's personal preference and driving style to be honest, I may have over exaggerated saying they're worse than budget tyres, I was just ranting, but I don't really rate them, there's a few tyres I've seen people rave about on here and when I've tried them I've not been impressed.

Best tyre I've ever had on the Cup has been continentals, not tried the PE2s yet though.
