2K Lacquer aerosol.. cheapest.. and usage.

Im currently refurbishing my newly aquired alloys.. planning on finishing them off with 2k lacquer..

Anyone got any links to cheaper.. or better 2k than this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....565938&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1155wt_939

Was planning on 2x cans = £30inc delivery.

Thought this would be enough to give the fronts a good coating and the insides a good dust...

If the 2 cans where only enough for the wheel faces could i use normal lacquer inside the wheel?

And protection wise i have a respirator mask and glases.. will be done in very good ventillation.. i've read the chemicals go for the water in the eyes ?!

This stuff air drys faster and gives a better "petrol and scratch resistant" finish.

Apparently the difference between normal and this is a big difference.. and seeing as these are alloys i want a good finish on the face of them.. also the drying faster than usual is the part im attracted to.

There is the 2k in the white can for about £9 each delivered but it looks smaller and not as good.

Anyone got any trade sites? i suppose minimum order would be like £50 and hard to get an account?

Is this the white one you mentioned above?

I agree it does look poorer quality, but its 400ml.

Whereas the pro-2k, according to their website, from what I can understand it looks like it only comes in 200ml cans?

So if the pro-2k ebay one at £12.75 is only 200ml, yet that white autoclear one on ebay is 400ml for £6.75, it seems that you get twice as much for half the price?

Im a bit puzzled by this whole 2k thing as well!

  Dodgy one
Get yourself a decent mask too, 2k contains Isocyonate which can cause asthma if you breathe the fumes in. We have to use an airfed mask when painting in the ovens because of this

I have a 3M respirator mask, That will be ok wont it? Im just not sure what to use on my eyes, I will do it in the open air for good ventilation.

James the Auto clear was the white cans i was talking about Didn't think about the size of the cans.. As you've said the Auto clear is 400ml.. Where as im not sure about the Pro XL size cans? Anyone know?

Also can the 2K be used with normal lacquer? Im guessing yes.

Yea looking at their website again:
http://www.jawel.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_45

This is the description of the 200ml one:

"PRO-XL 2K Clear 200ml Pro2kClear is a superior high gloss crystal clear finish that has excellent..."

The 500ml one that is below that one, according the description is only 1k laquer, so from what I'm understanding the 2k laquer only comes in 200ml cans?

"PRO-XL Clear 500ml ProClear is a high performance 1k lacquer which gives a crystal clear finish,..."

Im debating now to just use normal lacquer.

Never realised the 2k was 200ml.. Going to need about 4 cans just to get a light coating aren't I ?

Is Halfords wheel lacquer any better than Halfords standard lacquer?

Seeing as my holidays cancelled due to this Volcanic ash b****cks...

I think ill be getting 3 cans of Halfords alloy lacquer and sticking with that.
