2nd 3rd gear crunch ?

Hey all just wondering if you could shed some light on this situation when going from 1st to 2nd gear fairly fast 2nd gear just isnt there till you fully let off take it out of gear and put it back in its rather annoying at times , and 3rd gear goes in fine just can hear a slight crunch as it dose when doing it abit rough am i just being 2 rough with it or have a broken something

if it spins through first and u go for 2nd it just dont seem to be there just grinds and wont go in, if your going steady it seems okay.

Had this on mine few weeks back, £700 lighter it's fixed, synchro mech had gone in the box, yours may not be that serious though, drive steady for a while and no hard shifting see how it goes, mine happened pretty much on every ocassion didn't matter how carful I drove either

Has your dogbone mount been replaced?? i thought that if worn or not set right it could give problems.

No they just split the box and checked everything and replaced the synchro, Renault done it under warranty so all I ever had to pay was £200 but the final quote was £900. on the receipt the gearbox specialists charged £350 to strip replace and rebuild. Most of the cost is labour charges.

Mine does this aswell. Also crunches pretty much every time i go into reverse

Change the gearbox oil, made a difference to mine. I used expensive oil though. I think it was Titan 80/90 if I remember

cheers for all the feedback guys ill have to be gentle with her , and no i have not had the dog bone mount done im hoping to get a poly bushed one soon
