Clio 197
Hi ,
Been looking into getting a 2nd fun/weekend car in addition to my regular main car (neither of them are Renault so i wont name the make / model :wink ... BUT INSURANCE is v.EXPENSIVE!
I have 11 years NCB on the main policy and a couple of insurers have mentioned mirroring this to the quotation (fine) - however i am really struggling to get what i deem an acceptable quotation for the 2nd car - the best so far is £700 with AF, given that my main policy is £300 per year - it stings a little.
The car in question is RWD (which makes some insurers nervous and they ask about previous experience etc - which is fine) but i also want to include a couple of mods to cover me for the future and gives me a feel for how mod friendly they are (Coilovers/Cat back exahaust) which without these half the price (on comparison sites at least £1200 to £600)
Tried the 4 main comparison sites + plus a few other specialists (Bentac*re / Chris Kn*tt etc)
So i guess my question is , how do you lot go about it? Got a ring trip next year and at this rate will be taking my family bus
Obvious solution is keep it un-modified, even then it will cost 2x that of my main car - maybe i am too tight to run 2x cars :tonguewink:
