3 month report.........

  ST TDCI
Well after defecting from Peugeot hot hatches I've now had the clio about 3 months and its been a fairly busy 3 months.......

So after getting the car (swopped for a 306 Rallye) gave it a good clean, clear side repeater lenses, KN panel filter and a aftermarket h/u were fitted fairly quickly.

Then onto the first project, the manky headlights....3M kit to the rescue....

Soooo much better, def worth £20:cool:

Then first issue, exhaust rattles and knackered hanger. So new hanger fitted and cat heat shield sorted, loads better now.

Then second issue:( - started missing and running on 3 - traced it to a faulty injector so a trek across country one frosty/ foggy morning to pick up a fuel rail and 4 injectors. Quick read up on the forum and 20 mins later, fitted the new injector and all sorted. Used my mates cheapo fault code to trace and clear the fault code. Since then all seems ok.

Over the last few weeks have been buying a few goodies and whilst the covers were off when sorting the injector decided to bling up the engine bay a bit.

Tomorrow I am going to attempt to fix the drivers seat, it will not tilt forward to let passengers in the back, have a new cable and the guide on here so we shall see....

So what do I think overall after 3 months?

Fast n fun pretty well sums it up, very direct feeling steering and responsive engine, brakes are good, firm ride but not to bad, liking it a lot!

Jobs to do:-
1 - lower it 30ishmm
2 - sort out steering wheel
3 - sort out the outside temp gauge, was 41 Deg C today....
4 - Turinis maybe
5 - RS tuner
6 - Get to a local meet or 2
and???

Looks good. I love monaco's.

You might find the cable has came out its guide that they sit in which stops them from going forward. It takes about 1 minute to fix with a pair of pliers.

3 month report mate, but is it as good as the Rallye?

Hmm tricky - overall just about - the rallye felt more planted especially @ speed but outright speed and handling around the twisty stuff the clio just has the edge.

Well fixed the drivers seat today - bit fiddly but got there in the end and found £3.20 whilst doing it so result!

Next up is to sort the temp gauge - 42 Deg C today.....

Also steamy windows - no wet carpets any where? boot was wet but dried that out and silliconed the plugs near the lights and it is nice an dry but still getting steamy windows? AC sorts it out but dont want to keep using it - any ideas? seems almost like when i put the fan on with out ac on it makes it worse?

Cheers Dave

Looking good! Amazing just how much difference that 3m kit has made to your headlights. They look brand new. Can't wait to get mine done after xmas:)

Car looks great. The engine cover is much better also. The only thing i'm not keen on the colour coded bullets. I think they look better in silver.

Should have gone in the projects room the way you are writting this thread.

The hiccups you have had are just simple little jobs, and cheap mayo fix aswell.
seems your doing pretty well with it.
