3 weeks with no clio....life without a car

Well I got back in today and I must be getting old, or its the crappy weather, but it was boring.

On the plus side I'm getting fitter riding my bike, I think I could live quite happily without my car now.

What's the longest anyone has gone without their car for and could you live without it permanently?

i didn't have mine for 5 weeks after the bottom end went. got it back two weeks ago, then after week the gearbox detonated!
so at this rate i might well be without it permenantly!

i cudnt live without my car......need it to taxi ads to childminders and to go to work but dont really use it at night/weekends anymore.

drive too far in the week to be bothered driving it at the weekend

but as i have been off today, today is the 1st day since i bought it the car has not moved!!!!

When I was looking for my 172.. I was without a car for about a month in total and I must say I hated every minuite of it.. The first night riding home from work on my bicycle i must of seen about 5 girls I knew driving their cars (so embarresed).. one of them being my ex-girlfriend! Felt like a right t**t =) She didnt offer to put the bike in the boot though.. I wasn't happy!

When i lived in London i gave up my car for an entire year, oh god how much does public transport suck, tramps vomiting on you, bloody foreign people playing music on crappy phones. oh lordy.

I could live without it yep. I have done without driving it for a week at longest but Its been out my hands for 2 month I think at longest.

Caught speeding in my 2 year probationary period, and i couldnt get any more points otherwise i'd have lost my licence and have to retake my test so went there and said i needed my licence for work etc. got a 28 day ban and £100 fine.

I have to lend him my car as he needs it for work more than me and he always fuels it when he borrows it, not all bad i guess and i know what my car will look like when lowerd lol! poor clio

I haven't been driving mine for 2 weeks now and it won't have a new gearbox until the 26th.

It's been great TBH as when I'm not using it, it can't break and cost me more money!! lol

I've been using the Mrs's Corsa and the bike. I'm thinking about making it a permanent thing once it's fixed.
