its the same as the others, just with aux belt and road test.

I paid £ 210+ £100 for aux belt. Need to check they are doing the aux belt as a lot dont quote for it and it is due.

  not a clio anymore
I paid more than that. Also they change the aux belt but not the tensioners. If you want the tensioners, you have to specify it and it will cost a fair bit more.

tbh, i didnt both having the belt done...

my arguement was that I have had the service done at renault, with the book stamped, it is their repsonsibility to ensure that the service complies with renault regime....

You will struglle to get them to do it after the event and they are likely just to say they have done... LOL.

some dealers charge £400+ for the 36k!!

Typical Renault .. not due for another 5/6k so just looking into the details incase I still have the car then hoping I don't as I have a potential buyer for after Christmas but at least I can pass the details onto them .. lol

spoke to a RTE as the 182 is going in for its 36k tomorrow.

Aparently a while ago the aux belts were snapping and knackering the rest as well. As a precaution Renault added the small note in the handbook to suggest the belt should be changed 'they recommend'. This way if the belt goes and you've not had it done they can say that you have not set the recommendations laid down in your book, so basically you're stuffed.

I phoned 3 dealers before this one and all 3 had no idea it was required to be changed before 72k which is damn scary. Tried complaining to Renault CS about it and was basically told "well you wouldn;t expect them to replace your brakes in the quoted service price would you", quite right, I wouldn't but the service says 'check the condition of brakes', not replace every 36,000 miles as the next page does for the Aux belt!

Rant over

Getting the 36k for £259 and Aux belt for £100 at a new Renallt garage near me in Chatham, Kent

Pffft. You'd all weep if I told you how much I just had to pay for a service and they didn't even touch the belts etc....

I think 300 isn't an unreasonable price. I'd bight someone's hand off if I could get a service for that.

Its a fixed requirment that they chnage the AUX belt but few places know. Its been a rule for ages all phase 2's have it I think.

AUdi/BMW/Merc all love charging a fortune. What did they charge you a nice cheap £250 or a "big" service at £500? Even that they always manage to find something expensive to replace. You have to love fixed prices servicing.

I go to a VW specialist. The service last month was 40K so the Quattro got a full service. Labour was a be'atch. I got decent rates though. Not looking forward to replacing the clutch which is reputedly worse than belt, tensioners and water pump etc.

Anyway, Renaults.... I would find a specialist and bin the main dealer. Someone who has a passion for the cars rather than some YTS monkey that's only thinking about the weekend....
