3GS problem

Bought my wife a 3GS 18 months ago from America and had it jailbroken on Blackra1n. Last month it just froze up and now won't change from recovery mode. Tried the 2 button thing and tried restoring it with iTunes but it stays in recovery mode and keeps coming up with a sim card problem.
Tried jailbreaking it again but it still won't budge.

Any ideas please??????

Similar thing happened to mine but it didn't say sim card problems, just stuck on that screen no matter what I did. And I true it all.

Apple confirmed it was fooked. Luckily they replaced it for free outside of warranty.

You've tried to jailbreak a phone you can't turn on?

Get it into DFU mode (YouTube for a guide on how to do it) and see if you can restore it.

Restored it after getting it into DFU mode but still nothing.
