3rd/5th gear..

When I put my car into 3rd gear, it looks like it is in 5th gear, and it really doesn't like going into 5th gear.
I'm guessing that this isn't normal, as it wasn't doing it up until a few weeks ago.
Is this likely to be a problem with my gearbox or... :S
And it is likely to be expensive to fix........
Or is that just the way it is.....

I'm not looking at it whilst driving, I did it when I was stopped. Cuz I was sat there seeing if I could get it in to 5th gear.

chnage the gearbox oil and check the lever.
