3rd gear mouse eek!

why oh why?

recently changed my gearstick gaitor/knob - all was well until;

i get a squeek out of my gearstick "ONLY when I change into 3rd gear"

its the same noise you would hear if you walked into a shop on a rainy day with a pair of trainers - squeek squeek

any hints at all would be helpful

Leave a trap in the car at night and you might catch it.

In my experience chocolate is better than cheese....use a humane trap tho.

Only kidding. You tried taking the new knob off and gaitor and seeing if the noise is still there?

lol - youre crazy!

not yet, but ill give it a go. ill look into the gearbox too to see is there anything sticking

its something simple but its very frustrating

If you take the gear knob and gaiter off and it goes away then refit the know without the gaitor and see if it comes back.

If it doent go away then maybe you bent something if you forced off the old knob.

If not then check the fittings and make sure nothings catching etc.
