3rd gear rev limiter

In a Mk2 172, can anyone tell me what speed your at when you hit the rev limiter in 3rd gear?
...or a good guess, as driving over the speed limit is obviously illegal..

Also are the limiters the same in the 172 and 182's?

If so what's forth gear aswell please?

off the top of my head i imagine its around 90 and 115 mph, but might slightly less. I've only ever hit my limiter in 1st and second!

In my 172 its was 90 in 3rd same as my 182 , can't remember whether i had 110 or 120 in 4th .

Cheers. Only asked because, theres a short video clip on a tuning website which shows their chipped 172 going from a standing start to hitting the revlimiter in 3rd in about 15/16 secs. But doesnt show the speed

Sounds about right. 172 0-100 is supposed to be late 17's i think.

IIRC it is about 90ish and 112...as Tyson said. nearer 95 and 125 with Rsport and decat/exhaust

i got about 90 out of third in my 182, one thing i miss about the ibiza, it went up to just over 105 in third, the gears were so much longer

never pushed to the limiter , is just over 90 though or thereabouts , 182s will differ from the 172s though .
