3rd service advice

3rd service due now on my 182 36500miles done tell me if im correct please.
oil
oil filter
air filter
pollen filter
check belts or is that not ness yet
plugs or is that not ness yet

the axillary belt needs changing mate the rest sounds about right i cant fully remember though

Auxbelt is overdue
I would do plugs if it was my car, though they're not on the service schedule

Cambelt hasn't really got anything to do with age, I think its around 60'000 for a cambelt, but I'll look on autodata at work tomorrow for a service schedule if you want?

Cambelt is 5 years or 72k
Auxbelt is 5 years or 36k

How can you say the cambelt isn't related to age as rubber weakens over time?

Plugs are supposed to last 72k but I would do them every 36k if it was mine.

much appreciated everone ive had the car 3 years from new 55 plate want to get services correct because i plan on keeping the car for years to come still love my clio to bits. no expert whats a axillery belt hope its spelt right. plus what plugs do you reccomend thanks.

In which case the auxilery belt and tensioners need to be done. The aux belt runs the alternator, aircon, power steering and water pump. Its quite serious if it fails as it normally gets wrapped round the cam belt and snaps that also.

Most people stick with the stock plugs as they are very good. There NGK but I can't remember the exact number. Don't get them from renault though as they charge allot for them.

Well obviously it matters but I meant if its only its 3rd service, one would assume its not older than five years, so you'd go on the mileage..

I obviously wasn't clear enough!

Well it could be 5 years old with a low milleage which would mean the belt is due. This is down the perrishable nature of the belt

Yes but nine out of ten people service their car every year, so there was a good chance that being its third service, it was under five years, which it is!

I have a 02 that has had minor at 2 years then major at 4 years and I am getting conflicting advice from Renault dealers as to what a minor service involves and different quotes.

Car has done a shade under 20K miles. Had the cam belt and aux belts done last year so minor service due. Quotes are from £210 up to £286.

Loving the car so spending a few quid will be worth it.

have a look at the service booklet - it explains it all in there although it might not be all that easy to figure out as it's dotted about

everyone forgets to mention it, but don't omit the inspection service - it's just as important as the fluid/filter changing stuff

Cheers - my service book is in Russian so I have to turn it upside down and look at it in a mirror to see what the story is !
