4 V 6 paddle clutch

Has anyone had experience with 4 and 6 paddle clutches? I understand that a 4 is much less progressive than a 6 but what are the advantages of a 4 paddle over a 6? The car is being used for rally so will have travel on public roads as well as being thrashed.
