40mm/ 60mm lowering springs

  BMW 330ci
As above I want to purchase some springs, but undecided whether to get 40mm or 60mm. I would like 60mm I just think its going to be un drivable, and i wont be able to get over speed bumps, park up curbs, if I hit a pot hole I will wreck front bumper.

Just wondering if people have any experience with either.

Thanks :D

Your choice's for springs are either Eibach sportlines (which lower around 15-20mm max), Eibach Prolines (Which dont really lower the car, maybe 5mm max), or some Apex which lower around 45mm iirc.

Speaking from experience i can highly recommend the Sportlines, great all round spring imo and worth anybody's 140 odd notes or so delievered from Kam racing ;)

They will be trash, spoil the handling of the car and ruin the ride comfort...i'd stay well clear of them mate, buy right...buy once ;)

Have a search about in the for sale section on here or ebay for some Eibachs dude, they pop up all the time ;)

Im in the same boat myself the lowest springs I've found are Apex 40mm but after seeing a few threads on this forum it appears their going to be pants once fitted to the car and am not sure if 40mm drop would be enough so am looking down the coilover route. Priced some up earlier which will lower car upto approx 70mm which i think may be too much but 50-60mm should look good, any pics feel free to post so i can see what this looks like :)

Will do mate thanks :)

60mm will not be low enough to destroy your car, honestly. They need at least 60 :)
Oo wicked will have to have a look for some 60 then lol

oo cool mate. I just dunno if I wanna spend that much on coilovers tbh. Was just looking for a cheaper option an so it's still lowered. I dunno perhaps I'll wait and think about it and save up. But thanks anyway mate :)

ive got fk 40mm and mine scrapes on speedbumps, handling is better but not great, save up and buy coilovers! There about £200 for some lower end ones or you can get a decent set off here for about that second hand, Problem i have is the back end feels a bit sloppy, im saving for coilovers ;)
