Mate, I think the best place to start looking is the Scenic 4x4 running gear, obviously it wont be a bolt-on job, but its probably the best starting point for ya, if you go and have a look at/under one take some good photos and post them up yeah?

Dimma created a 4x4 clio. Mind you that was using the running gear and engine from a escort cosworth, believe they basically rebuilt the whole floor pan. Proves thast it can be done though.

iv seen a 4 wheel drive williams, but it did have an extra engine in the back...!

or you could use that espace 4wd setup. Did you know that it used the 1st composite propshaft on a road car? Well you do now.

Anyway to do it most of the chassis would be chopped out and a new one welded on.

Anything is possible if youre willing fork out for it. I remember seeing article of 2 Ford Kas with Evo6 running gear and 400-450bhp!!!
