54 1.5 DCi Non-Starter. NOT: Camsft. Sensor, Cranksft Sensor or Cambelt - What next?

Hi all,
My beloved 54 1.5 DCi refused to start on Christmas Eve. It is with my local garage now. The diagnostic showed the fault as the Camshaft Sensor, which was replaced but did not cure the problem. The timing, pressure and cambelt have been checked and are fine, the crankshaft sensor was then replaced - but still nothing.

The car 'tries' to turn over, but it won't fully start (I can't think how else to describe it!)

Has anyone had anything similar, or does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?

Sticky rings are common, have they done the obvious? A compression check across all 4 cylinders.

I had an issue with injectors.

Mine started with a bump start (not jump start!) but would never start on the key.
