6 CD Multi-Changer in 182

did anyone get this extra or can anyone tell me whats its like im terms of quality is it worth the extra £££ or would it be better to sort out my own after sales stuff as usual.

I have the changer. It does what it says on the tin .... except I can say that with cup suspension, at speed, over rough roads my false eye fell out but there hasnt been a single skip on the CDs so it must have a fairly big buffer.

I only play Ice Cream Van jingles on my system but I have been impressed at the quality of the Cabasse (?) head unit and speakers that come in the 182. I can play the jingles loud enough without distortion that I see kids running out into the street behind me as I pass despite the windows being up.

Is it worth the money ? No, I am sure you will get a similar changer for about half the money. But that will be with more hassle and maybe extra rattles from having trims etc removed again to install it.

dont supose anythings ever worth the money but from what you say it sounds likes its nice bit of kit, might be adding that on to then! :)

I was going to get renault dealor to fit the 6 disc changer from my dynamique which was fitted by them from new, but it was too hard to obtain the correct cable.

Now instead of getting it fitted at Renault factory along with the other options on my 182 which is due in june (carminat sat nav and cup suspension) I have ordered a new one to be fitted by Renault dealor. I would normally prefer Renault themselves to do stuff like this but the one on my dynamique was superb sport on, worked off remote no problems. And was mounted on bracket under drivers seat, not the passenger seat like renault do. So get to keep storage box under passenger seat.

Oldman can you confrim if yours was done at the factory and if so where is it mounted? any chance of a pic :)?

btw it was £300 from the dealor fitted.

thanks for that no problems with it being a phone pic just gives me an idea of what it looks like.

It is different to the dealor one which is silver, theres a pic ive put up for it somewhere on this forum.

and as i said it goes under the passenger seat as I request it there, as i use the box under the passenger seat, cant see why renault themselves dont fit it under drivers seat but not a problem for some if you dont usually use the box anyway.

just thought cd player on passenger side, it could be something to do with being a french car, and the drivers side is on the left in france. So when you order from the factory they are all done on the left. Same as the weird thing that the only door lock on UK cars is on the passenger side.

I much prefer the standard single loading cd players.I change my music to often to be arsed with messing about changing 6 !!

Besides, where the changer goes is a nice little tray perfect for where i keep my tyre foams and owners manuals !

The reason that none factory spec cd changers are somtimes different is becuase dealers can buy other models cheaper than than can from Renault so install there own models.

The reason there only locked on the passengers side is becuase its French so the French only need a lock on that door to get in if it all failed but us brits have to climb in the passenger door and climba accross.
