6 x 9’s or 10 /12 Sub...

  Renaultsport Mégane R26

Hi there everyone. Ive got a Pioneer DEH-P6400R headunit living in the centre console of my 2002 Clio Dynamique and have now decided to get rid of the standard Renault speakers. I am expecting some nice new Pioneer components (TS-C1300R) in any day and am going to get those fitted into the front doors (and dash). A 4 channel Alpine or Pioneer amp is going to also be purchased very soon. However, i dont know what to do now! Do I got for a stealth shelf and some good 6 x 9s or a 10/12" sub? Cost wise, things arent much different due to the need for a stealth shelf for the speakers and a box and wiring kit for the sub....The only thing is that if i get the speakers, then i can put the amp on hold and run them from the headunit!!?!?

Anyone got any words of wisdom and advice for me?

P.S. If i get the sub in the boot will i still be able to get my golf clubs in?!

Cheers all

read my post on enclosures

i can desing and build you an enclosure to account for the golf clubs if required

to be honest, a 10" sub is more than likely going to be the best option

Yes, undoubtedly, get amp/sub rather than the 6x9" speakers! The sub will go so much lower and sound so much better than... well, thats my opinion anyhow.

Scott.

6*9s will just pull your sound staging back - add no bass - just mid, probably be bad quality, and limit you from having a sub in your boot at a later stage without changing you parcel shelf and getting rid of your 6*9s

Get a 10" sub in a small enclosure - say .5 cubic foot - if need be - you could screw the amp to the box

If your either going to get a pioneer or an alpine - get the alpine. If your not set on either of these - go for something else - i think mac audio are good value, or get a decent second hand amp
