72000 mile service?

This is due for my clio 172 cup.

I know its gonna cost a fortune, but would like to know what exactly is involved in the service.

The camebelt is the big expense, but do they do the gearbox oil etc.

If anyone knows or can recommend somewhere to take the car in the South Wales area, I would appreciate it.

The local Swansea dealer has a bad rep and will no doubt charge me a small fortune.

Prepared to travel a resonable distance to get this done right!

cambelt with aux belt + water pump (best to get the pump done as if it fails they have to redo the belts) on a 172 ff reno charge about 500-850

a indi would do it for about 350-550

cups are cheaper than FF tho

Mine is just coming up for this service...

Ive been to renault and brought:

Cam belt kit

Aux Belt kit

Water pump

Core plugs x2

The parts come to around £230 with a bit of discount

then just the usual things like oil, filter, plugs and i am also changing the gearbox oil.

If you know the right people all of this can be done for £375 if you do some of the work yourself

you need a reno only tool to do the cambelt.

Watser pump don't need to be changed at all its not done normally.

Its run of the aux belt so failure ins't as bad as one on a 1.2/1.4/1/6 or 1.5 as there pumps as cambelt driven.
