I was driving around this evening around Cardiff - man, I saw at least ten different CTRs. Theyre multiplying!
Anyway, a red one had been following me for a while and overtook me at mega speed just before rolling up to some red lights with a new-shape Fiesta. The Fiesta went for it on green, so the CTR took the bait and destroyed it. I was following at a respectable distance (Fezza a spec by now)...and as my luck had it, the next set of lights went red.
So I got to the lights and wound my window down. He started revving his engine. I looked over to him and caught his eye. I said: "Youll probably beat me you know" and winked (dont ask me why!).
At this point he took a good look at my car, spotted something, looked shocked and stopped revving.
The lights went green and instead of screaming off, he made sure that I had set off slowly before pulling in behind me and kept a very good distance between us. I dont know what he saw, but it must have put the fear into him!
So the moral of the story is, if you think youre going to get beaten off the lights, lean over and say "Youll probably beat me" and wink!!
