a couple of f4rt questions

  clio 182
Ok so i got given a megane 165 with a nackered turbo so i thought it would be a good excuse to turbo my 182 looking up old posts i dont think it will be to hard (famous last words).

Anyway i can get a new 165 turbo charger for about £200 so my question is what power can you get from this setup and is it possible to map the 182 ecu jus so i can use the original loom.

Moneys a bit tight at the moment so im hoping to get a running setup just for now then later ill get the 225 turbo and injectors.

Cheers binksy

You will struggle with mapping the standard ecu with boost so that will be the first issue. The loom will need to suit the ecu you choose.

I will be selling a megane 225 turbo, exhaust manifold, inlet manifold, downpipe, link pipe and injectors very soon if you are interested?

Most of not all who are doing 225 conversions go with aftermarket loom and ECU, I don't think coding the standard ECU is possible/practical. If you make it a hybrid engine with the 172 block it will mate up to the standard gearbox.

Possible to get the standard ECU working fairly well but to do so properly would cost more than going aftermarket, it just makes no sense to stick with it IMHO

Cheers good advise
Cupman: yea ive got the inlet but everything else ill be interested in pm me with a price.

Mantis: im gonna (try) and make a hybrid gearbox using 1.9 clio and 172 box as the block look similar to the f9q. If thats not possible then ill drill and tap the block to suite.

Chip: what aftermarket ecu would you recomend?
